Great Start!

Not that I was worried or anything but school started on Thursday and we all took Payton to school.  He starts at 8:15 sharp and I thought I was going to be an emotional wreck but Nope I did my son proud and didn't cry at all.  I did tear up a little but what mother wouldn't.

Payton asked that I make his favorite breakfast biscuit and gravy so I did.  I think he was a little nervous because he didn't eat as much as normal but he didn't let on.  We made the long block and a half walk and finally standing outside of his classroom when we found his locker.  Of course we put his stuff away and walked in to meet the teacher, Mrs. Stevens.  She said hello to Payton and he said hi.  We found his name which told him where he would be sitting.  He sat down and we continued to take pictures.  I promise we were not the only parents acting like fools.  We kissed him goodbye and he waved.  I had to look in there to make sure he wasn't scared and he winked at us and we left.  We were asked to stay with all the other kindergarten parents in the cafeteria and so we did.  They had donuts and juice.  Braxton wasn't to happy about all the people but we waited out the 45 miutes that felt like 2 hours to me.  At 9 o'clock sharp we went to get him and he was happy as can be.  Payton said he had a great time and that they read a book.  He was excited to go back on Friday.

Friday was our first normal school day.  We as a family are trying to get organized and make sure that we are prepared for everything.  Payton was there from 8:15 until 3:05.  It was also going to be his first hot school lunch.  I of course was nervous and checked in with Jeff after he dropped him off and also when he picked him up.  I reminded Jeff not to forget Payton.  I didn't have too.

Payton's after school report included that they had gym class and he ate almost all of his hamburger for lunch and cookies, peaches and cookies.  He has never used the word peaches but he did this day.  He was excited and also very tired.  He had a great first full day of school and as parents Jeff and I couldn't be more pleased.

BRAXTON UPDATE!!!
Braxton starts school on Monday and will be going everyday for 2 1/2 hours.  I am more worried about his teachers than we are for him.  He is very much an 3 1/2 year old that doesn't like to share.  So please say an extra prayer for his teachers and his peers.  We will let you know how it goes on Monday.

So as you can see we have had a lot of first and are looking for more.
