FAST....I AM GOING FAST....

Imagine this...Jeff and I decided to take the screw out of the green jeep power wheel so it would go fast.  We thought the boys were ready and so we did it and didn't tell them what we were doing and so Braxton and Payton that we had to fix it.

Braxton likes to hog the power wheel and so he got into it and put the pedal to the floor and to his surprise the jeep was going faster than he ever knew it could go.  Braxton had the biggest smile on his fast and kept yelling to Jeff and I that he was "GOING FAST".  He would stop for a minute and say...."Dad you know I am going fast?"  and Jeff would say yes and he would put his foot on the pedal and away he would go with the biggest smile on his fast and yelling fast...fast....fast.....and laughing with excitement.

Payton got to drive once but had more fun trying to beat the new super fast jeep by pedaling his bike fast.  The big wheel won...

Fast....FAst...FASt...FAST>>>>>>

Pink Milk?

Payton came home today from school and told his dad that they finally got pink milk.  Jeff asked him what flavor was the pink milk and Payton told him strawberry.  Payton continued to say that he liked pink milk and that it was good for his snack.

Braxton's day went well and he still does not like GIRLS....I am starting to wonder if the girls like him and won't leave him alone and that is why he is so adamant about not liking girls.

First full week of School...

Braxton started school on Monday and he did cry a little when he had to leave daddy on Monday and Tuesday but on Wednesday he was hoping out the van and ready to go.  Yes it has only been a week but Braxton has decided that he does not like GIRLS.  It is funny to hear him tell me that he does not like girls except his mom, momma and ole momma.  He is loving school and we are so excited.

Payton had his first full week of school and has loved it also.  He can't believe that he gets to have two chocolate milks a day-one for snack and one for lunch.  He loves to talk about what he had for lunch.  The biggest change is that Payton has been experiencign new things and is having problems finding the words to explain what he did at school that day.  He usually says YOU DO IT...which means that he doesn't know how to explain it.  We are helping with as much as we can and just try not to get him upset when he can't tell us.  He loves school and that is all the matters.

As a family we are getting on a schedule and just trying to get use to both boys being in school.  Jeff and I both love hearing the stories from the boys and seeing how excited they are to go to school.  Lets just hope that this last.

Great Start!

Not that I was worried or anything but school started on Thursday and we all took Payton to school.  He starts at 8:15 sharp and I thought I was going to be an emotional wreck but Nope I did my son proud and didn't cry at all.  I did tear up a little but what mother wouldn't.

Payton asked that I make his favorite breakfast biscuit and gravy so I did.  I think he was a little nervous because he didn't eat as much as normal but he didn't let on.  We made the long block and a half walk and finally standing outside of his classroom when we found his locker.  Of course we put his stuff away and walked in to meet the teacher, Mrs. Stevens.  She said hello to Payton and he said hi.  We found his name which told him where he would be sitting.  He sat down and we continued to take pictures.  I promise we were not the only parents acting like fools.  We kissed him goodbye and he waved.  I had to look in there to make sure he wasn't scared and he winked at us and we left.  We were asked to stay with all the other kindergarten parents in the cafeteria and so we did.  They had donuts and juice.  Braxton wasn't to happy about all the people but we waited out the 45 miutes that felt like 2 hours to me.  At 9 o'clock sharp we went to get him and he was happy as can be.  Payton said he had a great time and that they read a book.  He was excited to go back on Friday.

Friday was our first normal school day.  We as a family are trying to get organized and make sure that we are prepared for everything.  Payton was there from 8:15 until 3:05.  It was also going to be his first hot school lunch.  I of course was nervous and checked in with Jeff after he dropped him off and also when he picked him up.  I reminded Jeff not to forget Payton.  I didn't have too.

Payton's after school report included that they had gym class and he ate almost all of his hamburger for lunch and cookies, peaches and cookies.  He has never used the word peaches but he did this day.  He was excited and also very tired.  He had a great first full day of school and as parents Jeff and I couldn't be more pleased.

BRAXTON UPDATE!!!
Braxton starts school on Monday and will be going everyday for 2 1/2 hours.  I am more worried about his teachers than we are for him.  He is very much an 3 1/2 year old that doesn't like to share.  So please say an extra prayer for his teachers and his peers.  We will let you know how it goes on Monday.

So as you can see we have had a lot of first and are looking for more.

Where did the summer go?

In one week we will be putting Payton to bed knowing that he starts kindergarten the next morning.  He is so excited and can't wait to use his new Clone Wats backpack.  He is all set and ready to go.

Braxton will start preschool after Labor day.  He will be going on Tuesday and Thursday for a half a day.  He is very excited but I think he doesn't really know what is going to happen.  So I am expecting him to have a rough start but I hope he will surprise us.

As a family we have had a great time this summer and looking forward to the fall.

I hope to blog more and I am sorry that we have been slacking.

Where did it all begin.....

This is a blog about the lives of a non-traditional midwestern family. I am a full time working mother of two beautiful boys and a wife to a stay at home husband. We were married on June 15, 2002 and were blessed with two boys, Payton (4-19-05) and Braxton (2-08-07).
