Happy 4th Birthday to Braxton!

Today is Braxton's birthday.  He is taking cupcakes to school today.  We had his birthday party on Saturday and he had a blast.  He welcomed everyone that came to the house and told them he was the birthday boy.  He also made sure they all had a present for him also.  He is such a sweet boy.  Thank you Braxton for making us smile and laugh every day.

January!

P and B have been good.  We did meet up with Aunt Lisa and the boys (Dylan, Nolan, Kegan and Rogan) in Bloomington and spent the after noon at Chuck E. Cheese and then to the Children's Museum.  We had a blast.  I think C.E.C was more exhausting then the museum.

They boys are doing great in school.  Payton loves library day and being able to borrow books for a week.  Braxton loves going to school and seeing his friends.  No worries Mommy and CoCo are his best friends.

Well that is all for now.  We are getting ready for Braxton's birthday which is only a few weeks away.  We will type more later.

If you have breakfast for lunch do you have lunch for breakfast?

Every night we tell Payton what he is having for lunch at school the next day.  Yesterday we told him that he was going to have biscuits, gravy, hashbrowns and peaches.  He was so excited and then asked "mom does that mean I have chicken nuggets for breakfast?"  It was so cute.

Today I got home from work and the first thing he said was "I ate all of my lunch today".  A hot lunch in his belly is all that matters.

A New Year....

Happy New Year to all of you...Welcome to 2011.  As one of the things that I want to accomplish is to blog at least every other day.  I am going to strive hard to do this.  I want to be able to keep track of the boys and what they are up to now.  So here is an update from Thanksgiving to now.

Payton
  • Had to get stitches above his left eye because he fell out of bed.  He did not wake Jeff or I up and he had to go to a surgeon to get it closed.  6 stitches later and he was all better.  He has a very high tolerance for pain.
  • Is spelling his colors and loves to sing songs.
  • Loves the snow
Braxton
  • Loves to tell stories.  It is hard for me to get in a word when he starts talking
  • Uses curse words and had soap in his mouth for the first time because of this
Family-
We took a family vacation to Florida to see our extended family down there between Christmas and New Years.  We drove the 15 hours and the boys were great.  We had a whole week to do what we wanted when we wanted to.  P and B got their first Disney experience and they had a blast.  We were blessed to get free tickets.  It was a very fun but long day.  We will have to do it again.

So once a week I hope to give you updates on the boys and what they are into now.  We are gearing up for Braxton's 4th birthday...yes I can't believe he is going to be 4.  He is so excited.  Please stay tune there will be more blogging to come.  This is one of my New Year resolutions...

Happy Thanksgiving!

We had a great Thanksgiving yesterday with Ole Papa(grandpa Roger) and Great Momma(Great Grandma VL).  They boys were on their best behavior and I was thankful.

There is so much to be thankful for and to much to type but as a family we are thankful for our family and friends and staying healthy.  We are so thankful for the school system that Payton is in and how he is progressing with his speech.  We are thankful for Braxton's teachers for taking the extra time that my 3 year old needs and deserves.  We are thankful to spend the holiday with Great Momma this year and for being able to spend it with Ole Papa for the first time.   We could go on and on but just know we are Thankful and are Blessed.

Don't forget to take a moment and be thankful.

A lunch date...

Parents were invited to join their kindergartens for a picnic lunch today at school.  I had the pleasure to have lunch with my handsome Payton.  He knew I was coming but I love to see his facial expression when he sees me for the first time at school.  His whole face lights up and he winks at me.  We sat down and he had a pb&j sandwich with apple sauce and gold fish.  I brought him a bag of his favorite chips and a chocolate milk.  We got the blanket all laid out and two of his friends Aidan and Braeden come to join us.  We had a great time and talked about their mornings.  A student got sick this morning so of course that was the talk of the day.  Aidan and Braeden went on to another blanket and Payton and I got to talk more and be silly.

The best part was seeing him interact with the other children in his class and to also see how happy he is at school.

Thank you Payton for being the best lunch date.

Can you see me?

Well over the weekend the boys had the sniffles and then last night I looked into Braxton's eyes and realize that he has pink eye.  So daddy took to him to the doctor and yes he has pinkeye in both eyes.  Well at least it happened today instead of later in the week.

Where did it all begin.....

This is a blog about the lives of a non-traditional midwestern family. I am a full time working mother of two beautiful boys and a wife to a stay at home husband. We were married on June 15, 2002 and were blessed with two boys, Payton (4-19-05) and Braxton (2-08-07).
